From carbon pricing to green financial product development, from ESG management to green taxonomy regulations, green and sustainable finance has a crucial and emerging role in the fight against the triple planetary crisis. However, there is a severe shortage in skills and labour in sustainable finance globally.

As an international financial centre, Hong Kong has been advancing its momentum and promoting the development of sustainable finance for businesses in Hong Kong. Respectively, there are growing interest amongst youth from various backgrounds in learning about sustainable finance in general.

Business Representatives
Alfred
Alfred is a sustainable investment product specialist at a foreign private bank. He advises clients on their sustainability journey and works closely with investment services teams as well as stakeholders across the bank towards a holistic sustainable investment offering.
Phoebe Liu
Phoebe Liu is Senior Associate at Hong Kong Green Finance Association (HKGFA), which is a nonprofit organisation to help to position Hong Kong as a leading global Green Tech and Green Fi centre. Understanding the urgency to promote environmental awareness and climate actions, Phoebe is motivated to push forward green and sustainable finance developments in Hong Kong. She has been actively supporting HKGFA's work in capacity building and awareness building - supported and organised over 300 events in the past three years, including the HKGFA Annual Forum and Certificate programs with HKUST and HKFSI. Phoebe received the HKGFA-HKUST Certificate in Sustainable Finance in 2022. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Connie
Connie is a corporate social responsibility professional working in a listed company. Not only does she has extensive experience in driving environmental and sustainability initiatives, she is also passionate in building long-term partnerships with charities as well as supporting local social enterprises. She is currently one of the pre-screening members of HKCSS Impact Incubator.
Connie is one of the HK youth delegate to COP27, she is passionate in climate justice and co-founded the advocacy group EmPower, which raises the awareness of how climate change has affected the underprivileged and promotes a just transition to protect the livelihoods of the most vulnerable.
Vivian Lau
Vivian is the Senior Manager for Hong Kong Green Finance Association (HKGFA), dedicated to sustainable finance development and ecosystem building in Hong Kong and the GBA through a diverse range of work including marketing and communications, event and partnership, membership engagement, working groups and research initiatives.
Vivian has over ten years of experience in the public sector, promoting trade and transformation opportunities for corporates and SMEs across different industries such as innovation and technology, intellectual property, design and culture. She has also worked as the Secretariat in Hong Kong Trade Development Council overseeing the daily operation of 50 offices worldwide and the Executive Director’s Office to support on strategic planning, project management and corporate communication matters. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in English at CUHK and pursuing a Master’s Degree in Sustainability Leadership and Governance at HKU.
Liza Hung
Liza is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in the financial industry. She started her career as an auditor in Pricewaterhouse in the UK. After receiving the Chartered Accountancy qualification, she joined the banking industry and has held various positions in financial control, risk management, quantitative research and the Equities departments of various prestigious global investment banks.
She graduated from University of Oxford with a master degree in Economics and Management and she is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
Jeffrey Leung
Jeffrey has been in the financial industry for more than 15 years. He has been in various global banks in various divisions including Chief Investment Office, Chief Risk Office, Market Risk Management. He has an MBA, MSc of Investment Management, MSocSc in Sustainability Leadership and Governance. He is also an FRM, certificate holder of CFA ESG Investing, certificate holder of GARP Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR), EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst® (CESGA).
Besides his day job, Jeffrey is the Co-Founder of Green Insights International Limited, and a part-time lecturer in HKU SPACE.
