Hermia Chan

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Hermia noticed the absence of climate education in the city’s education curriculum. She therefore co-founded NESS in early 2021, with an aim to provide a one-stop platform for accelerating youth-led climate actions in Hong Kong.

 

Aside from local actions, Hermia is now serving as a Northeast Asia representative in the Asia-Pacific Youth Advisory Group on Environmental and Climate Justice under UNDP. She had also actively participated COP26 in Glasgow and Bonn Climate Change Conference (SB56), advocating for Action for Climate Empowerment internationally.

 

Hermia is pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the Hertie School in Berlin.
